The Ford House, built in 1854 for Jerome B. Ford, is one of the oldest buildings in the Mendocino. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, the house serves as the visitor center for Mendocino Headlands State Park, as well as the visitor information center for the town. The house exterior was just extensively restored after a six year fundraising campaign by the Mendocino Area Parks Association. Every year the house is decorated for Christmas, much as the Ford Family would have done in the 1800s. Open every day, year-round, 11:00am to 4:00pm, including Christmas Day!
