Looking at the Ford House Museum from Mendocino Headlands State Park

The Ford House, built in 1854 for Jerome B. Ford, is one of the oldest buildings in the Mendocino. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, the house serves as the visitor center for Mendocino Headlands State Park, as well as the visitor information center for the town. The house exterior was just extensively restored after a six year fundraising campaign by the Mendocino Area Parks Association. Every year the house is decorated for Christmas, much as the Ford Family would have done in the 1800s. Open every day, year-round, 11:00am to 4:00pm, including Christmas Day!

The Community Center of Mendocino, housed in the historic Grammar School, is a hub of activity for our coastal community. Classes include the popular After School Enrichment Program, martial arts, circus silks, Zhumba, Pilates, and a myriad of other activities for adults and children. The site features bright spacious rooms that are ideal for concerts, celebrations, workshops, and meetings, and includes Friendship Park and the surrounding picnic areas and playground. Both indoor and outdoor areas are available to rent for all occasions. CCM is governed by a non-profit of the same name, which relies on the participation and support of our local community.
